Race Ramps
- Always follow the weight capacity guidelines. Most Race Ramps can support 1,500 pounds per ramp, and the weight capacity can be found on the bottom of your ramp. When using your ramps on a hard surface such as cement or asphalt, sweep the area first as rocks and debris can cause the ramps to slide and may cause permanent denting or pitting on the underside. Make sure you center your tires on the ramp.
- Don’t overshoot the end – portions of the ramp may be crushed if you drive over the front or side edges.
- Always keep your ramps in temperatures below 150 degrees Fahrenheit (65.56 degrees Celsius) by making sure they aren’t in direct sunlight for an extended period of time, or in your trunk on a 100-degree day.
- Don’t use wood, metal, or other materials with Race Ramps products, and please note that Race Ramps are engineered to work with cars that have high-performance, high-speed rated tires. Do not use them with heavy lug mud tires or extra narrow tires.
All our ramps are 100% solid, made in high-density expanded foam with a rugged anti-slip coating. This patented process results in a product that is extremely lightweight, yet strong and durable. The ramps will not slide, scratch, or otherwise damage any floor type.
All of our products are made with American materials in America. Almost all products are made by hand at the Race Ramps headquarters in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
The initial use may leave a slight impression (up to 1/8″) on the surface of the ramp. This is caused by the vehicle tire weight settling the inner core of the ramps and does not affect the strength of the ramp.
You can easily wash your ramps a scrub brush, soap, and water. If you’re on the road, spray WD-40 on and wipe it off with a clean rag.
Race Ramps can be used indoors or outdoors as long as the surface temperature of the ramps does not exceed 150° degrees Fahrenheit (65.56° degrees Celsius). When using Race Ramps outside, avoid exposing them to direct sunlight for a long period of time. In very hot climates, do not store them outside or in the trunk of your car.
Nope! Race Ramps are impervious to most automotive fluids. However, some fluids may leave a stain on the surface.
Race Ramps are designed for use on a flat surface. Their weight capacities are only safe when the entire bottom of the ramp is supported by solid ground.
CarCapsule
For about .05 cents a day or $1.50 per month, your CarCapsule/ShowCase fan will operate 24/7, 365 days a year, to exchange the air five plus times per hour, keeping the dust, dings, dents, and rodents from your pride and joy.
The CarCapsule™ is an evaporative system. The constant air change will evaporate all moisture in a matter of hours. This will prevent rust from the exterior parts while eliminating mold and mildew from the interior.
From our customer’s reviews and our perspective, you should leave the windows up all the way. There is no actual benefit to rolling them down. If you have a convertible, the top should be up not to trap moisture in the compartment it is stored in.
Once inflated, the CarCapsule™ takes up about one foot on either side of the vehicle. The space on the front and back of the car bubble depends on the size of CarCapsule™ you select.
The upper shroud is made of 10 mil PVC. If you do happen to puncture the unit, use a piece of clear, 100% PVC shipping tape. This will bond to the upper shroud and will not come off.
The car bubble will deflate and turn into a regular car cover. When the power returns, it will re-inflate in a matter of minutes. Make sure the fan is not laying flat, otherwise it will not inflate.
The CarCapsule™ does not eliminate humidity, it eliminates condensation. The fan exchanges the air by volume three to four times an hour. This constant air change and air flow does not allow hot air and cold masses to meet. This, in turn, eliminates condensation and keeps the vehicle completely dry no matter what the temperature or humidity level.
You do not need to use another cover with the CarCapsule™. This will only block air from circulating in the interior and might trap moisture.
The CarCapsule™ can be used for short-term, long-term, or anything in between. It takes about the same time to use as a regular car cover except for the inflating of the unit. It takes a few minutes to get the car out of the car bubble.
No, the basemat is impervious to gas, diesel, oil, or antifreeze. You do not have to worry about these odors because the air is constantly circulating.
No, dry packs or chemicals are not needed. The CarCapsule™ car bubble is an evaporative system that uses air flow to prevent condensation. This enables you to take your vehicle in and out anytime you want without having to mess with chemicals or dry packs.
We have had hundreds of customers tell us they have not had a problem with any kind of rodents chewing through the material.
The prototypes that were built in 1988 are still in use today. However, the fans have a rated lifetime of 3-5 years depending on conditions.
